The Association of Public Prosecutors and Deputy Public Prosecutors of Serbia is organizing the Conference „Towards the Constitutional Amendments“ on Friday, October 22nd, 2021, as our professional contribution to the ongoing consultations on the amendments of the Constitution of Serbia.
The Conference is also the opportunity to mark a significant jubilee – 20 years of Association and our advocacy for strengthening the rule of law and separation of powers in Serbia.
The topics to be discussed at the conference concern the proposed amendments to the Constitution in the field of justice, as well as how these amendments, if fully adopted, will impact the functioning of the judiciary in practice.
The following speakers will explain and discuss the proposed revisions on the position of the judiciary in the new Constitution: Mr. Goran Ilic, Member of the PAS Presidency ,Mr. Vladan Petrov, Professor of Law Faculty in Belgrade, Mr. Bojan Milisavljevic, Professor of Law Faculty in Belgrade, and Mrs. Katarina Golubovic, President of YUCOM. The second session, focused on how the proposed changes will impact the functioning of the judiciary in practice, speakers will be Mr. Radovan Lazic, President of PAS Management Board,
Mr. Slobodan Orlovic , Professor of Law Faculty in Novi Sad , Mrs. Vesna Petrovic, Belgrade Center for Human Rights, and Mr. Predrag Milovanovic, Member of the State Prosecutorial Council.
The last panel will be focused on how the civil sector, to which we also belong, contributed to the creation ofenvironment for the necessary judicial reforms,. This topic will be covererd by Mrs. Branislava Vuckovic, president of the PAS Assembly , Mrs. Dragana Boljevic, Honorable President, Judges Association of Serbia, Mr. Milorad Bjeletic, Executive Director, Belgrade Open School, Mr. Miodrag Milosavljavic, Acting Executive Director, Foundation for Open Society, Mr. Miodrag Jovanovic, Professor of Law Faculty in Belgrade.
