MEDEL and its Greek member organisation, the Association of Greek Judges and Public Prosecutors for Democracy and Liberties, are jointly organising the international conference titled “The backsliding of the Rule of Law and the pressure exerted on the Judiciary in Europe. The role of the European Union”, to be held on 21 November 2025 in Athens.
Among the speakers will be Lidija Komlen Nikolić, President of the Presidency of the Prosecutor Association of Serbia.
She will speak during the second session (14:00 h), contributing with her presentation:
“The pressure on judges and prosecutors in Serbia”
The conference brings together distinguished judges, prosecutors, academics and representatives of European institutions to discuss current threats to the Rule of Law and the pressures faced by the judiciary across Europe.
On 22 November 2025, MEDEL will also hold its Council of Administration meeting in Athens.
The participation of the Prosecutor Association of Serbia at this event strengthens international cooperation and contributes to the broader European dialogue on judicial independence and the protection of the Rule of Law.
